Healthy Hot Chocolate

Who doesn’t love a hot chocolate? It’s just so warming and comforting. I have to say I’m totally addicted to our super healthy version. When I was pregnant with both kids it gave me the energy to get through the day. It’s packed with lots of the happy-hormone serotonin, which acts as a natural mood booster and anti-depressant. Making it great for new mums too. Plus the almond milk and almond butter give you lots of energizing plant protein, calcium, iron and vitamin E which is amazing for glowing skin and healthy hair. What’s not to love?

Ingredients

1 mug of unsweetened almond milk

2 tsp raw cacao powder

1 tsp maple syrup (or 2 tsp if you like it sweeter)

1 tbsp almond butter

Optional: sprinkling of raw cacao nibs

Method

In a pan, heat all the ingredients and stir until hot. Try to avoid over-heating it or bringing it to the boil, and this will destroy some the amazing qualities of the raw cacao.

Put your feet up, and enjoy!
